On May 20, 2026, the Supreme Procurement Committee of Kuwait Oil Company approved multiple contracts with a total value of 115 million Kuwaiti dinars, approximately 373 million US dollars, covering three major sectors: production facility maintenance and renovation, oil well testing services, and equipment supply. Currently, OPEC+continues to promote collaborative production cuts, and Kuwait's daily production remains stable at around 2.4 million barrels. Against this backdrop, the implementation of these contracts reflects a clear signal for Middle Eastern oil producing countries to accelerate the maintenance of their existing production capacity.

Two major sectors advance together

The contract for maintenance and renovation services of production facilities in the western region has been awarded to the United Group Contracting Company, valued at 9.7 million Kuwaiti dinars, approximately 31.5 million US dollars. The oil well testing and related services are divided into four operation packages, with a total value of 101.78 million Kuwaiti dinars. Schlumberger Oilfield East Company has won its first operational package, worth 12.32 million dinars, approximately 40 million US dollars; Gulf Drilling Maintenance Company has been awarded a second contract worth approximately 21.07 million dinars; Spetko International Oil Company and Natural Gas and Oilfield Services Company have respectively won the third and fourth contracts, with a value of 19.67 million and 18.29 million dinars.

Equipment supply and electrical maintenance

The total value of the oil well casing hanger supply contract is approximately 2.75 million dinars, of which Schlumberger Oilfield East Company received a share of 975700 dinars, and Kufu General Trade Contracting Company received 1.77 million dinars. In addition, the committee also approved the direct award of a contract worth approximately 5.44 million dinars from Kuwait Oil Company to Schneider Electric Systems Middle East, covering the full lifecycle support and maintenance of the electrical system at Mina Ahmad Refinery.
