In the field of digital infrastructure in Southeast Asia, a major acquisition case has been officially finalized. Vantage Data Center, a global provider of ultra large scale data centers, announced today that it has completed the acquisition of Yondr Group's 300 MW ultra large scale data center park located in Johor, Malaysia. This transaction is an important component of its $1.6 billion equity investment in the Asia Pacific region, led by a subsidiary of the Singapore Government Investment Corporation (GIC) and a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA). This marks that global capital is accelerating its layout in the Southeast Asian digital infrastructure market.

Strategic Layout: Johor Park Becomes a Key Node in Southeast Asia's Digital Hub

The Johor campus that has been acquired this time is named JHB1, covering an area of nearly 73 acres, with a strategic location of great value. The park is located in the Johor Singapore Special Economic Zone, with dark fiber routing and access to regional hubs, providing superior network connectivity. After the park is fully completed, it will provide over 300 megawatts of IT capacity through three data centers, making it one of the largest and most technologically advanced data center parks in Southeast Asia.

Jeremy Doig, President of Vantage Data Center Asia Pacific, said, "The completion of the acquisition of the Johor campus marks an important step in our Asia Pacific growth strategy. We have incorporated one of the largest and most advanced mega scale campuses in Southeast Asia into our platform." He also revealed that after the acquisition, more than 30 Yondr Asia Pacific team members will join the Vantage Asia Pacific team.

Technological leadership: Green innovation creates a model of sustainable development

The JHB1 park fully embodies the concept of sustainable development in the design and construction process. The park was initially financed through green loans and adopted multiple innovative energy-saving technologies, including direct chip liquid cooling technology. This technology route that focuses on sustainable development not only reduces the energy consumption of data centers, but also provides guarantees for their long-term operational efficiency.

This technological direction is highly in line with the global trend towards green and efficient development in the data center industry. With the rapid development of technologies such as artificial intelligence and cloud computing, the demand for high-performance computing infrastructure continues to grow, and energy-efficient and environmentally friendly data center solutions are becoming a key element of industry competition.

Regional expansion: The capacity of the Asia Pacific platform will reach 1 gigawatt

After completing this acquisition, Vantage's data center layout in the Asia Pacific region has further expanded. JHB1 campus will become Vantage's third data center campus in Malaysia, forming a wide-ranging regional network along with its facilities in Australia, Japan, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. This layout expands Vantage's total operational and planned IT capacity in the Asia Pacific region to a total of 1 gigawatt, significantly enhancing its competitiveness in the Asian digital infrastructure market.

At the same time, exchanges and cooperation in the global digital infrastructure field are also accelerating. It is reported that the "2025 Global Digital Infrastructure Series Summit" hosted by media organizations in the global digital infrastructure industry will hold nearly 30 industry events in six regions including Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, the Middle East, Oceania, and Europe starting from March 2025. It is expected that over 50000 industry guests from the global cloud computing and data center digital infrastructure fields will participate to discuss industry development trends and cooperation opportunities.
