On November 24, 2025, the first steel cage for the underground continuous wall of Tianjin Airport Station on the Beijing Binzhou Intercity Railway, constructed by China Railway Construction Group, was successfully lifted, marking the official start of construction for the station and laying an important foundation for high-quality underground structure construction in the future.

Tianjin Airport Station is a newly built underground station on the second phase of the Beijing Tianjin Intercity Railway, located on the east side of Terminal 2 of Tianjin Airport. The total length of the station building is 851 meters, with a scale of 2 sets and 6 lines, and adopts an underground three story structure. As the first high-speed railway station in Tianjin to achieve seamless connection between railway and aviation, it will significantly optimize the transfer process after completion. Passengers can experience zero distance transfer through air rail intermodal transportation, greatly improving travel efficiency.

Overcoming complex geological and clearance limitations, innovating processes to ensure construction accuracy
The support of the station foundation pit is centered around the underground continuous wall, and the construction faces two major challenges: firstly, due to the limitation of the airport clearance height, the steel cage must be lifted in sections, which requires extremely high accuracy for aerial docking; Secondly, the project is located in a marine soft soil layer, which has the characteristics of high groundwater level and high pore water pressure. The construction of ultra deep trench walls is prone to problems such as trench collapse and diameter reduction. The project team innovatively optimized the layout of lifting points, setting up 2 rows of 8 dedicated lifting points for each steel cage to ensure even lifting force, and establishing a linkage mechanism between processing and groove forming progress to achieve an efficient rhythm of lifting and pouring after the groove is completed. During the lifting process, a 350 ton main crawler crane and a 200 ton auxiliary crawler crane were used for coordinated operation, with both cranes operating synchronously and smoothly.
