[Kunming Changshui Airport maintenance base starts construction] On the morning of December 4, 2025, the first phase of the aircraft maintenance base project for the renovation and expansion of Kunming Changshui International Airport officially began construction. The project is located on the northwest side of Terminal 2, invested and constructed by Yunnan Aviation Industry Investment Group, with a total construction area of nearly 100000 square meters and a total investment of over 1.5 billion yuan. It plans to build 12 individual facilities including a comprehensive business building, hangar, and aviation material warehouse. Among them, the maintenance hangar with a span of 260 meters can accommodate 10 narrow body aircraft at the same time, providing one-stop services such as maintenance, painting, dismantling, and modification for B737, A320 and other aircraft models. After the completion of the project, it will be operated by Yunnan Airport Aircraft Maintenance Service Co., Ltd. to help build the entire aviation maintenance industry chain, promote the high-end development of the industry, and provide support for Yunnan's construction of an aviation radiation center facing South Asia and Southeast Asia.
