[The electrification project of Qinghai Tibet Railway has started construction] Recently, a Qinghai Tibet Railway electrification external power supporting project with a total investment of 14.9 billion yuan was officially launched. This major project crossing Xizang in Qinghai and building more than 3400 kilometers of new lines will not only inject green momentum into the electrification of "Tianlu", but also reshape the transportation and energy pattern of the plateau. This project is a key precursor to the electrification renovation of the Golmud section of the Qinghai Tibet Railway. It will directly improve the transportation capacity of the only major railway artery in Xizang, effectively ease the logistics bottleneck in and out of Tibet, and lay the foundation for the future operation of Fuxing bullet train. At the same time, the project optimizes the main grid structure of the plateau power grid, providing a consumption channel for the abundant clean energy such as wind and solar energy in northern Tibet, promoting the synchronous green transformation of transportation and energy systems, and helping the plateau region build a new type of power system, marking a new stage of green and efficient development in the Qinghai Tibet Plateau.
