Recently, in the energy storage industrial park of Xuzhou New Area in Yibin, Sichuan, construction machinery roared, marking the official start of the construction of Pengcheng Unlimited's 54GWh annual energy storage battery manufacturing base project. For a company that will only be established in 2023, such investment and speed undoubtedly drop a heavy signal bomb in the industry.

Build a benchmark for intelligent manufacturing in the industry

The construction site of this project is located in the industrial core area of Xuzhou New District in Yibin, and is an important part of the energy storage industrial park with a total planned area of over 8000 acres. The project will be constructed in two phases, and once fully operational, it can achieve an annual production capacity of 54GWh of energy storage batteries, with the goal of building an industry-leading intelligent manufacturing base.

Looking back at the project progress, its pace of advancement can be described as rapid. Last November, Pengcheng Unlimited signed a key project contract in Yibin and officially launched the construction of an energy storage battery cell manufacturing base in the southwest region. At that time, the planned annual production capacity for the first phase was 27GWh. According to the plan, the contracted project is the first phase of the current construction project. It is reported that the base plans to complete the main construction by the end of September 2026, followed by equipment installation and commissioning. Trial production can be achieved in November of the same year.

Pengcheng Unlimited stated that the Yibin base is a crucial step in its national strategic layout. The company will take this base as an important pivot, continuously consolidate and enhance its core position in the energy storage industry chain, and expand its business boundaries. This not only injects strong impetus into local economic development, but also further optimizes the regional layout of China's energy storage industry.

Rapid expansion of young enterprises

Pengcheng's unlimited production capacity layout is not limited to Yibin. In December 2025, the government of Feicheng City, Shandong Province, jointly signed an energy storage battery manufacturing project with Pengcheng Unlimited and Ruineng Electric Power, with a total investment of about 5.5 billion yuan and a planned production capacity of 27 GWh.

Public information shows that although Pengcheng Unlimited was established in 2023, it has already laid out in multiple locations across the country. Previously, the company had established research and development, marketing, and manufacturing bases in Suzhou, Jiangsu, Shenzhen, Guangdong, Xining, Qinghai, and other places. Among them, the Qinghai base focuses on battery cell production, with a planned annual production capacity of 15GWh. With the successive landing of the Yibin and Feicheng base projects, Pengcheng Unlimited will fully expand its production capacity map in the southwest, east, and northwest regions, providing solid production capacity guarantees for its subsequent development.

Its rapid expansion is partly due to the authorization of core technologies. According to Chairman Lv Jian, Pengcheng Unlimited is the exclusive battery manufacturing and sales company in China that has obtained both Ningde Times technology authorization and after-sales service authorization. With this advantage, the company has rapidly developed multiple battery cell products such as 280Ah, 314Ah, and 587Ah, gradually building a product matrix covering multiple scenarios.

Orders pave the way for capacity release

Behind the expansion of production capacity is the positive performance of the market as support. According to institutional statistics, Pengcheng Unlimited's cumulative signing volume in 2025 has approached 16GWh.

The highlights of market breakthroughs are frequent: In August 2025, the company successfully won the bid for China Energy Construction's 25GWh energy storage system centralized procurement project, and was shortlisted for the 2-hour system and 4-hour system sections at prices of 0.44 yuan/Wh and 0.395 yuan/Wh respectively, becoming one of the companies that won both sections at the same time. In the same year, the company was also shortlisted for the 2025 National Energy Information Control Energy Storage Cell Framework Procurement, winning the bid for Section II with a capacity of approximately 0.6 GWh. The supplied cells are mainly used for integrating and adapting liquid cooled energy storage systems for industrial, commercial, and large-scale energy storage applications.

Entering 2026, the company's market expansion pace has not stopped. In January of this year, Pengcheng Unlimited signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Haixi Communication, with a cooperation scale of up to 60GWh, laying a solid foundation for the smooth release of its subsequent production capacity and further expansion of the market.
