Recently, China's first 300 megawatt non supplementary combustion compressed air energy storage power station - Power Construction Corporation of China, Ltd. Feicheng 2 × 300 megawatt salt cavern compressed air energy storage power station Unit 2 generator stator was successfully lifted into place, and the construction process was safe and stable. The project has officially entered the core equipment installation stage, laying a solid foundation for timely grid connected power generation.

Leading project technology in China
The PCC Feicheng 2×300 MW salt cavern compressed air energy storage power station is the first new energy storage project in China to use 300 MW level, high-pressure salt cavern full water medium high-temperature and high-pressure non supplementary combustion adiabatic compressed air energy storage technology. It is invested, designed, and constructed by a subsidiary of China Electric Power Construction Corporation.
The project is located in the Energy Storage Industrial Park of Feicheng Economic Development Zone, Shandong Province, covering an area of approximately 221 acres. It plans to install two 300 MW/1800 MWh energy storage units, with a thermal storage temperature of 224 ℃, charging for 8 hours, and full load for 6 hours. The charging and discharging efficiency exceeds 70%, and it has the advantages of simple system, high efficiency, low cost, and low operation and maintenance.
Precise lifting of oversized equipment
The stator of the generator lifted this time weighs 281 tons, which is a high-risk construction project. Due to factors such as large equipment tonnage, small site space, and high installation accuracy requirements, the construction difficulty is extremely high. The project team developed a specialized plan, repeatedly optimized the process, monitored the entire process in real-time, and ultimately achieved a successful lifting operation. The successful completion of the stator hoisting has provided key conditions for the subsequent rotor installation and effectively promoted the project construction. After the completion of the project, it is expected to generate 1.188 billion kilowatt hours of electricity annually, which can meet the annual electricity demand of 600000 households. This will not only enhance the power grid's peak shaving and new energy consumption capacity, but also provide an important demonstration for the large-scale development of new energy storage in China.Editor/Gong Ziwei
