The loud explosion tore apart the night sky, the windows trembled violently, and the entire city seemed to be trembling. This is Tehran, the capital of Iran, at around 20:30 on March 1st. For a moment, the reporter thought that his apartment building had been hit by a missile.  

Pushing open the window, a pungent and burning smell hit my face. Immediately afterwards, the roar of fighter jets and the sound of air defense systems intercepting missiles intertwined over Tehran, and flames flickered in the sky from time to time.  

On March 1st, it was the second day that the United States and Israel launched military strikes against Iran. On this day, every once in a while, Xinhua News Agency reporters would hear huge explosions in Tehran.

In the early morning of that day, the Iranian government confirmed that Iran's Supreme Leader Khamenei was killed in the US Israel attack.  

At 7 o'clock in the morning, the reporter saw a large number of Iranian people spontaneously heading to the Revolution Square in Tehran to participate in a rally to mourn Khamenei.  

The reporter went from his residence to Revolution Square. Affected by the attack, there are fewer vehicles on the main roads and few pedestrians on the streets of the city. But as soon as we turned onto Revolution Street, the crowd surged and gathered towards Revolution Square.  

The people walking on the revolutionary street looked sad, some silently shedding tears, while others shouted the name of Khamenei. On both sides of the road, some people were squatting on the ground crying.

They (the US and Israel) have been plotting for a long time, "choked up the voice of citizen Mojave." We have long known how cruel they are, and yesterday's attack on the elementary school is the strongest evidence.  

A primary school in Minab, southern Iran, was hit by a US Israeli airstrike on February 28th. According to Iranian media reports on March 1st, at least 165 people were killed in this elementary school, most of whom were children.

Their actions seriously violate international law and basic norms of international relations, "Mojave said." No matter what happens, we stand firmly with our country.  

Fatahi, a middle-aged woman who attended the rally, said that the United States and Israel "killed our leaders". They are accustomed to using force and committing crimes, wanting to make other countries submit, but they are wrong. We firmly support our country.

”At around 10:30, when the reporter left the rally site, the sound of explosions could be heard again in the city.

On the way back to their residence, the reporter saw thick smoke rising in many places in the south, east, and west of Tehran.

The driver of the car the reporter was in said that Tehran was originally a peaceful city, and the continuous bombing in the past two days has shattered some people's illusions. Some people still think that Americans can bring benefits, but look at these days, they only bring bombings.

”According to the Iranian Red Crescent Society, as of late night on February 28th, the US Israeli airstrikes on Iran have resulted in 201 deaths and 747 injuries. The Tehran Red Crescent Society announced on March 1st that since February 28th, the United States and Israel have launched 60 airstrikes in Tehran, resulting in 57 deaths.  

At around 5am on March 2nd, dense explosions were heard again in the city center of Tehran. This city continues to endure the torment of war amidst its mournful cries.Editor/Bian Wenjun
