The bidding results for the renovation and expansion projects of Dalian Jinzhou Bay International Airport and Kunming Changshui International Airport have been announced successively. China Railway Jianlian Union won the Dalian Airport project for 1.037 billion yuan, while China Construction Eighth Engineering Division First Construction Co., Ltd. won the Kunming Airport fire protection project for 508 million yuan. In early March 2026, the bidding results for the access road viaduct, underpass, and ancillary facilities project of Dalian Jinzhou Bay International Airport will be announced. Led by China Railway 19th Bureau Group, a consortium consisting of Shanxi Fourth Construction Group, China Railway Construction Bridge Engineering Bureau Group, and others won the bid for 1.037 billion yuan.

The total investment of this project is 50.93 billion yuan, and two long-distance runways will be built. The north runway is 3600 meters long and the south runway is 3400 meters long. Construct a 500000 square meter terminal building, 194 parking aprons, a 50000 square meter comprehensive transportation center, a 173000 square meter parking building, and supporting ancillary facilities.

China Construction Bayi wins 500 million yuan fire protection project

During the same period, the bidding results for the T2 terminal building, GTC, and supporting fire protection engineering of Kunming Changshui International Airport renovation and expansion project were announced. China Construction Eighth Engineering Division First Construction Co., Ltd. ranked first among the winning bidders with a bid of 508 million yuan.

The overall budget of the project is about 66.5 billion yuan, with a new T2 terminal building, comprehensive transportation center, etc., and a total construction area of about 730000 square meters. The supporting fire protection engineering includes facilities such as automatic fire alarm, automatic sprinkler, and fire extinguishing system. The project is planned to be completed by 2030, with an annual passenger throughput of 95 million.

The simultaneous promotion of the two major airport projects is a strategic outcome for optimizing the layout of China's aviation network and enhancing the comprehensive transportation level.
