Recently, the completion ceremony of the Phase II project of the 30 million ton magnetic separation plant in New Tangkri, Sierra Leone, undertaken by CRFG, was successfully held at the local New Tangkri iron mine. Sierra Leone President Bio, government officials, and executives from the Leonlock Metal Group gathered at the scene to witness the official launch and operation of the project. At the production ceremony, President Bio and guests from all walks of life took the stage and pressed the start button, announcing the successful completion and operation of the second phase of the new Tangkrili Magnetic Separation Plant. A hundred tons of magnetite ore were smoothly fed into the feed inlet of the coarse crushing station, and the equipment in each workshop was synchronized and operated smoothly. The project officially entered the stage of normalized production and operation.

Efficient completion of construction challenges

The second phase of the project started in April 2025 and was successfully completed after 11 months, with a construction period shortened by 30 days compared to the first phase. After being put into operation, the annual processing capacity of the ore dressing plant can reach 20 million tons, significantly improving the ore dressing capacity and production efficiency, laying a solid foundation for large-scale intensive operation. During the project construction period, faced with many challenges such as high temperature and humidity in West Africa, long rainy season, complex geological conditions, difficulty in cross-border material supply and local management, the construction team coordinated safety, quality and progress work, and made every effort to overcome difficulties and promote construction. The team builds a sea rail land multimodal transportation material support system to break through the bottleneck of cross-border equipment and material transportation; Scientifically adjust the construction plan, seize favorable opportunities for dry season construction, and make every effort to improve construction efficiency.
