On March 12, 2026, Ambassador Chen Hai, accompanied by Takle Uma, CEO of Addis Ababa Djibouti Railway Company, went to the Addis Ababa Djibouti Railway Yingduo Station and the nearby AMG Industrial Park for on-site inspection. The embassy's business office and relevant personnel of Addis Ababa Djibouti Railway Company attended.

Ambassador Chen and his delegation first inspected the expansion project of the cargo warehouse and loading and unloading line at the Yingduo Station of the Addis Ababa Djibouti Railway. This project is the first freight station of the Addis Ababa Djibouti Railway, and after expansion, it will effectively expand the capacity and loading and unloading space of the cargo yard, improve railway transportation efficiency. At AMG Industrial Park, Ambassador Chen listened to the introduction. The park is established based on the Yaji Railway and is the largest privately-owned industrial park along the line. It mainly engages in coffee processing, steel rolling and other businesses. Recently, it has self funded the construction of a 3-kilometer railway line connecting the park with multiple stations in England. After completion, it will significantly improve the transportation efficiency and competitiveness of the park.

During the research, Uma introduced the concept of improving the quality and efficiency of the Yaji Railway, stating that it will focus on improving the efficiency of freight services, investing in expansion to better meet transportation needs, and increasing capacity and volume. Chinese China Civil Engineering Corporation participates in the construction and operation of the Addis Ababa Djibouti Railway, providing high-quality services. The Ethiopian side expresses gratitude for this and is willing to work together with the Chinese side to play the role of the Addis Ababa Djibouti Railway logistics hub and achieve dual economic and social benefits. Ambassador Chen positively evaluated the progress made in the construction of the Addis Ababa Djibouti Railway, introduced China's 15th Five Year Plan and the situation of the National People's Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and stated that China will continue to expand cooperation with Africa and support Ethiopia's industrialization and modernization development. As the flagship project of the the Belt and Road jointly built by China and Ethiopia, the Addis Ababa Djibouti Railway has made gratifying progress in improving transport capacity with the joint efforts of both sides. China and Ethiopia are discussing how to promote cooperation in the Addis Ababa Djibouti Railway Prosperity Belt under the framework of high-quality joint construction of the the Belt and Road.
