Uzbekistan's Minister of Digital Technology, Sherzod Shermatov, sat opposite Huawei's Vice President and Head of Central Asia, and the two sides officially established a strategic cooperation path. From Tashkent to Samarkand, from government cloud to 5G network, this Central Asian hinterland country is joining hands with Chinese technology giants to make a crucial contribution on the digital Silk Road.

From data centers to digital ecosystems
In 2021, Huawei has built its first data center in Uzbekistan, laying the foundation for the country's communication infrastructure. Five years later today, the cooperation between the two parties has entered a new stage: focusing on high-speed data transmission network expansion, deep integration of cloud services, and application of artificial intelligence technology. This upgrade plan directly targets the core goal of Uzbekistan's digital transformation - to increase the proportion of digital government services to 70% by 2026 and gradually narrow the regional digital divide.
Operator value reconstruction
Huawei will fully leverage its technological advantages in areas such as 5G-A and U6GHz to provide Uzbekistan with a full stack solution from hardware deployment to software integration. The two sides will have in-depth discussions on diversified cooperation models, with a focus on strengthening the operational efficiency of the telecommunications industry, expanding the sources of revenue for operators, and promoting the cultivation of local digital talents and the landing of technologies to ensure the sustainable development of the digital industry.
