New progress has been reported in the preliminary work of the Taisui high-speed railway. The feasibility study and demolition budget investigation and verification of the Lvliang section, the preparation of 5 station city integration planning schemes, and the procurement intention for the preparation of the station city integration development plan around the Taisui High speed Railway Station in the Shanxi Transformation Comprehensive Reform Demonstration Zone have been released in February, and the bidding is planned to start in March April this year.

The Taisui High speed Railway is an important component of the national eight vertical and eight horizontal high-speed railway network. Its route is the Taiyuan Lvliang Suide passenger dedicated line, mainly responsible for medium and long-distance passenger flow, while also taking into account intercity travel and tourism functions. The project has a designed speed of 350 kilometers per hour and a total length of 296.33 kilometers for the main line, including 240.98 kilometers within Shanxi Province, including 70.98 kilometers in Taiyuan and 170 kilometers in Lvliang.

Steady implementation of route planning

The main contents of the survey on land acquisition, demolition, and relocation during the feasibility study stage include: conducting unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) flights on more than 160 kilometers of routes throughout the city to obtain basic data; Verify information on buildings, land use, area, and attachments within the red line of land acquisition for the route, and detect the location and depth of underground pipelines; Find out the distribution of hospitals, schools, nursing homes, etc. within the environmental protection line; Clarify the specific locations of gas stations, seismic stations, etc. within the safety line, and conduct a demolition value assessment on the above content.

The Taisui High speed Railway has been included in the national "14th Five Year Plan for the Development of Modern Comprehensive Transportation System" and "14th Five Year Plan for Railway Development". The project includes the main line project and the Taiyuan Hub Passenger Transport West Ring Line. The line starts from Yangqu West Station of Daxi High speed Railway and ends at Suide West Station of Yanyu High speed Railway, and is connected to Taiyuan South Station through a new connecting line. Relevant connecting lines with Shitai Passenger Dedicated Line, Daxi High speed Railway, and Yanyu High speed Railway will be constructed simultaneously, with a planned construction period of 4.5 years.

New stations such as Taiyuan West, Xiaohe, Wenshui, Xinghua Village, Zhongyang, Lvliang South, and Liulin West are planned to be built along the entire line, with reserved Suide East Station. The final approval plan shall prevail. As a key section of the Qingyin Corridor, the Beijing Tianjin Hebei Chengdu Chongqing Main Axis, and the Beijing Tibet Corridor, the Taisui High speed Railway has passed the feasibility study review of China Railway Group at the end of September 2025 and entered the stage of revision and location survey. At present, the preliminary review of land use, planning and site selection, social stability risk assessment, environmental impact assessment and other work for the Shanxi and Shaanxi sections have been launched. The project is accelerating the approval of feasibility studies, preliminary design and related thematic research.

Accelerate the construction of high-speed rail channels

Previously, Lvliang City stated that it actively strives to establish Liulinxi Station near Qikou Scenic Area, Xinghuacun Station for the convenience of travel in Fenyang and Xiaoyi, and strives to expand the scale of Lvliang West Station, add storage tracks, and set up a station in Zhongyang County in the feasibility study review. According to the provincial key project arrangement of Shanxi Province in 2026, the construction of the Taisui high-speed railway is planned to commence; The Shaanxi Provincial Transportation Work Conference also proposed to coordinate and accelerate the preliminary preparations for the Suide Taiyuan high-speed railway. After the completion of the Taisui high-speed railway, it will open up a fast eastward exit route for Yan'an, Yulin, Lvliang and other areas, facilitating access to the national high-speed railway network and strengthening connections with North China and the Beijing Tianjin Hebei region.
