In March 2026, China's first deep-sea green intelligent technology experimental ship, the Future, is conducting a new round of sea validation in a certain sea area. Since its official delivery on July 23, 2025, this 110.8 meter long vessel with a full load displacement of 7000 tons has been equipped with over 20 sets of key new marine equipment and has undergone rigorous testing in real marine environments. The engineers on board are closely monitoring the screens, recording the operational data of each set of equipment - these wind and wave data from the deep sea will become the key password for domestic ship and sea equipment to move from laboratory to industrial application.

The outline of the 15th Five Year Plan clearly proposes to strengthen the strategic scientific and technological strength of the ocean, accelerate breakthroughs in a number of key core technologies and equipment, and create more important weapons for multiple countries. The construction and operation of the Future spacecraft is a vivid practice of this strategy. As an offshore mobile laboratory, the Future provides a real sea validation platform for China's new ship to sea equipment, giving equipment that could only be simulated and tested in a pool the opportunity to test performance, identify problems, and iteratively optimize in real sea conditions.

At present, the Future Ship has completed multiple batches of real sea validation of new marine equipment, covering multiple fields such as underwater robots, deep-sea exploration equipment, and ocean communication systems.
