China's spring irrigation work is fully underway, and digital technology has become a new engine for harvest. According to data from the Ministry of Water Resources, 16 provinces have started spring irrigation, with a total water supply of 4.9 billion cubic meters, irrigating 57 million acres of farmland, and synchronously opening irrigation in 1040 large and medium-sized irrigation areas.
Technology makes watering smarter. In Binzhou, Shandong, the three major irrigation areas are connected to a digital twin platform, which enables remote and precise control of gates to achieve efficient allocation of water resources; In Linfen, Shanxi, sprinkler irrigation robots equipped with Beidou positioning gallop through the fields, achieving precise water replenishment for 3 million acres of winter wheat and significant water-saving effects.

The overall soil moisture in the current national territory is suitable, and the water storage capacity of key reservoirs is nearly 10% higher than usual. To cope with the peak water demand, the Yellow River Water Resources Commission has increased the discharge flow of the Dalangdi Reservoir and made every effort to ensure irrigation along the Yellow River. From flood irrigation to smart drip irrigation, technology is building a solid water network for stable summer grain production.Editor/Cheng Liting
