In Bazhong City, Sichuan Province, the construction site of the Bacheng Transit Highway Project of China Railway 18th Bureau's National Highways 244, 347, and 542 has become a hot scene of "working hard and quickly, not letting down the spring scenery". Hundreds of builders are fighting on the front line, with various types of machinery roaring loudly, working together to strive for the early completion of the first ring road around the city in Bazhong.
This 52.77 kilometer long transit highway is part of the "Ring Expressway" in Bazhong City. Among them, the section constructed by China Railway 18th Bureau is 33.57 kilometers long and has heavy construction tasks, including the construction of 3 new tunnels, 16 bridges, and 2 interchanges and other key projects.

Smart brain, precise construction
To overcome technical challenges and ensure engineering accuracy and safety, the project team has deeply integrated digital technology into the entire construction process. In the construction of the key Guanyin River Bridge's high-speed section steel box girder, the project introduced stress automation monitoring equipment to collect 24-hour uninterrupted data from 28 key points. This' smart brain 'provides real-time feedback information and accurately guides the top pushing operation of the steel box girder, ensuring the efficient and safe completion of this project that crosses busy highway sections. At present, more than 400 construction workers are distributed across multiple work areas such as earthwork excavation, roadbed filling, and structural construction, advancing synchronously and forming a comprehensive situation of tackling challenges.

Overcoming difficulties, fighting fiercely for the first leap
As the largest single span control project in the entire project, the progress of the Guaitang River No.1 Bridge is touching. At the construction site, several tower cranes were waving their giant arms, and construction workers were orderly installing and reinforcing templates on dozens of meters high bridge piers, making final preparations for the upcoming hanging basket construction. This 476 meter long bridge has completed the construction of all the lower structures of the main piers and is currently sprinting towards the upper structure. The latest data shows that the project construction is progressing at full speed: the roadbed and bridge engineering has been completed by 55%, the tunnel engineering progress has reached 96%, the culvert engineering has been completed by about 75%, and the pavement engineering has also started, with about 20% completed. Currently, the project team is closely monitoring the annual target tasks, strengthening element guarantees, optimizing resource allocation, and making every effort to promote the final stage of the project construction while strictly adhering to the safety bottom line and quality control.
It is reported that this project is an important part of improving the road network layout in Southwest China.
