In April 2026, the roar of bulldozers shattered the tranquility of the past on a vacant land in Namo area, Oudomxay Province, northern Laos. Engineers from Thai industrial real estate giant Anmed Group are repeatedly calculating a set of numbers on the blueprint -300 to 400 megawatts, which is not only the load limit of the power grid, but also the energy bottom line for northern Laos to turn from an agricultural hinterland to a regional industrial hub.

Phase I development delineates 900 hectares
The first phase of the Anmeide Namo Intelligent Ecological City has a land area of approximately 930 hectares, which will be expanded to a total of 3150 hectares of franchise areas in the future. The project is positioned as a comprehensive industrial city model, integrating clean energy and infrastructure, and supporting systematic residential and commercial facilities. Tang Pulakun, General Manager of Anmeide Laos Company, clearly stated that relying on the geographical advantage of connecting China and neighboring countries in northern Laos, this intelligent ecological city will become an economic gateway connecting regional supply chains.

The 400 MW power grid paves the way ahead
Anmeide CEO Chawali revealed that the power demand in the park is expected to reach 300 to 400 megawatts, and it will significantly increase in the long term with the gathering of industries. The Lao National Power Company will provide technical support throughout the entire process, and both parties will plan synchronously from power generation, transmission to load management to ensure that the power grid has high stability and flexible expansion capacity. The integration of clean energy into the grid is listed as a priority, and the integration of renewable energy will directly match the needs of international investors who focus on sustainable development. The formation of the supply chain in the China Thailand old triangle
It is worth noting that Anmei De is not fighting alone. China Power Construction Corporation has signed the general contract for infrastructure construction of the project, and Laos National Transmission Grid Company, a subsidiary of Southern Power Grid, has previously signed a memorandum of cooperation on power supply with Anmeide. A triangular supply chain led by Thai capital, constructed by Chinese infrastructure, and supported by Laotian resources is taking shape. Anmeide is simultaneously promoting the layout of industrial cities in Thailand, Vietnam, and Laos, with a land sales target of 2800 rai by 2026, of which 600 rai is from Laos. Namo is becoming the latest pawn on the ASEAN industrial transfer chessboard.Editor/Gao Xue
