With the completion of the final concrete pouring, the Tianjin section of the Datong Huailai Tianjin South 1000 kV high-voltage AC transmission line project officially entered a comprehensive construction climax on the 20th. As of now, the three core processes of foundation construction, tower assembly, and line installation have achieved full load operation, and the number of on-site workers is rapidly approaching the scale of a thousand people, entering the construction peak 15% ahead of the original plan.

As the core channel of the national West East power transmission strategy and a key infrastructure for the coordinated development of Beijing Tianjin Hebei, this project is expected to achieve full capacity operation by June 2027. Cui Rongkun, the Executive Manager of the Project Department of the project owner, introduced that in response to complex working conditions such as the need to cross the Changshen Expressway twice in the Tianjin section, the construction party has established a real-time linkage mechanism in conjunction with the traffic management department.

By setting up 18 meter high crossing structures on both sides of the highway, combined with precise guidance and mechanized traction technology of drones, millimeter level docking of guide ropes has been achieved. This fully mechanized and intelligent construction mode not only improves the efficiency of overhead lines by 40%, but also ensures that the entire road is not closed and there is no traffic interruption, solving the industry problem of ultra-high voltage lines crossing busy roads.

Green energy drives regional economy

Under the guidance of the dual carbon target, the environmental benefits of this project are significant. After being put into operation, it will annually deliver over 14.6 billion kilowatt hours of clean electricity to the Beijing Tianjin Hebei region, which is equivalent to replacing 4.45 million tons of standard coal annually and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 11.81 million tons. This will effectively promote the low-carbon transformation of the regional energy structure.

Economically speaking, the project passes through 7 administrative districts within Tianjin, with a newly built line of approximately 171 kilometers and 342 iron towers. It needs to cross 12 highways and 8 railways. The total investment of the project is about 7 billion yuan. According to the latest calculation, it has directly driven investment in the upstream and downstream industrial chains such as equipment manufacturing, construction and installation, and material supply, exceeding 14 billion yuan, with an investment multiplier effect of 2.0. This not only injects strong momentum into the advanced manufacturing cluster in the Beijing Tianjin Hebei region, but also promotes the improvement and efficiency of the regional real economy through the synergistic effect of the ultra-high voltage industry chain.
