Recently, the Saudi Arabia Harden 2GW Photovoltaic Power Station project, jointly constructed by China Energy Engineering International Group, Guangdong Thermal Power, and Northwest Institute, successfully held a celebration ceremony for 10 million safe working hours. More than a thousand employees from the owner, EPC management team, and participating units attended and witnessed the key milestones of the project construction together. At the ceremony, the owner unit fully affirmed the rigorous and efficient safety management work of the project team and awarded the honorary certificate of millions of safe working hours. The project department will simultaneously commend advanced collectives and individuals who have shown outstanding performance in safety, environmental protection, and health management in recent times, establish benchmarks, and motivate all staff.

Since the project started construction in October 2024, it has faced multiple challenges brought about by the complex geological environment of the desert and large-scale synchronous construction. The project team has always adhered to the concept of safe development, implemented the requirements of comprehensive management of safety production, relied on a refined management mode of graded risk control and normalized hidden danger investigation, steadily promoted various construction tasks such as pile foundation pouring and photovoltaic panel laying, and achieved excellent results of zero safety accidents, zero personnel injuries, and zero environmental pollution throughout the process. At present, the peak of civil engineering and installation construction of the project has been successfully completed, and the southern area has been successfully connected to the grid for power generation. In the future, the project team will take millions of safe working hours as a new starting point, continuously strengthen safety management responsibilities, steadily promote key work such as reverse power transmission and grid connection in the northern region, and fully guarantee the high-quality completion and operation of the project. This project is a key project of Saudi Arabia's 2030 Vision New Energy Plan. After the project is fully put into operation, it can provide about 6 billion kilowatt hours of clean power annually, reduce about 6 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions, effectively boost the green upgrading of Saudi Arabia's energy structure, and inject strong momentum into green energy cooperation along the the Belt and Road.Editor/Gong Ziwei
