[South Africa bets $1.35 billion on LNG]The South African National Ports Authority has signed a 25 year terminal operation agreement with Ukwanda LNG to construct an onshore LNG regasification facility at the Ngula Port, with a total investment of approximately 22 billion rand, including 2 billion rand dedicated LNG berths, with the goal of full operation by 2035. This project is a core component of South Africa's Fair Energy Transition Plan, which will support a 3 GW natural gas power generation quota to supply gas to the Koka Special Economic Zone.
