On June 18, 2020, with the first pile foundation drilling, the Shandong section of Zhengji High Speed Rail officially started construction. It is understood that nearly 94% of the Zhengji high-speed rail Shandong section is a bridge, and will cross high-speed rail, ordinary railways, highways, rivers and large municipal roads in Jinan more than 20 times.

The Shandong section of Zhengji High Speed Rail was invested and constructed by Shandong Railway Investment Group, with a total length of about 168.4km. It will lead from Jinan West Station, pass through Liaocheng City, and extend to the junction of Shandong and Henan provinces. It will be connected to Jinan Station and Daminghu Station by a connecting line. There are Changqing Station, Chiping South Station, Liaocheng West Station and Xinxian Station along the line. Among them, the first bid of Zhengji High-speed Railway Station was undertaken by China Railway Tenth Bureau, including Zhengji High-speed Railway Main Line, Jinan Station Up and Down Links and Jinan Station Reconstruction and other related projects, with a total length of 27.3 kilometers, a cost of 2.695 billion yuan, and a construction period of 4 years. 70% of the projects in the first tender section are near the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed rail, and 95% are near the business line. The safety risk is high and the construction is difficult.

Zhengji high-speed rail is an important part of the national eight vertical and eight horizontal high-speed rail network, Shandong four horizontal and six vertical comprehensive transport corridors, and the rice-shaped high-speed rail network in Henan Province. The total construction period of the Shandong section project approval is 48 months, and it is planned to be completed by the end of 2023.

After the opening of Zhengji High-speed Railway, the connection between Shandong and Central Plains will be greatly deepened, and the time between Zhengzhou and Jinan and Qingdao will be greatly shortened, which will add wings to the rapid economic development of Shandong. Editor/Zhao Jing
