On September 3, Shanghai Ship Research and Design Institute of China State Shipbuilding Corporation and Guangzhou Shipyard International Co., Ltd. signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Shanghai.

The two parties will take the China State Shipbuilding Corporation’s high-quality development strategy as the lead, actively leverage their respective advantages, and strengthen cooperation in the fields of new product development and research, product design, software development, technical consulting, personnel training, cabin capacity measurement verification, etc., through scientific development and independent Innovative cooperation mode to realize resource sharing, complementary advantages, and build a mutually-help and win-win strategic partnership.

The two parties will work together on the R&D, design and construction of high-tech, high-value-added ships. With the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement as a new starting point, the two parties will further strengthen technical exchanges and information communication, give play to their respective advantages, research and develop new ship types, and strengthen The competitiveness of the ship market provides a strong guarantee for new ships, and jointly supports and promotes the development of China's shipping industry, shipbuilding industry and related supporting industries.

On the same day, the two parties also signed a contract for the design of a 3000-meter-lane multi-function ro-ro cargo ship. The ship is 193 meters in length, 26.4 meters in width, 15.4 meters in deck height, and a service speed of 17 knots. It has a lane of about 3,000 meters and has 4 layers of vehicle cabins, of which 1 is a movable deck vehicle cabin. The ship’s propulsion device uses two medium-speed marine diesel engines, which drive variable-pitch propellers through a reduction gear box and a transmission shaft. It is an energy-saving and environmentally-friendly multi-purpose roll-on ship that carries cars, various trucks, containers and packaged dangerous goods.

The multifunctional roll-on cargo ship will be equipped with bow thrust, anti-rolling devices and anti-rolling tanks, which greatly improves the ship's wind resistance and safety performance.
