Vinci Concessions wins 1.3 billion euro highway in Kenya

Recently, French President Emmanuel Macron and Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta attended the signing ceremony of a preliminary agreement in Paris, witnessing a 1.3 billion euro public-private partnership (PPP) in Kenya. The signing of the project.

Its consortium includes Vinci Concessions and Meridiam SAS, which will fund, build and operate the new 175km Nairobi-Nakuru-Mao Peak Expressway within 30 years.

This project is the first PPP project of Vinci Concession Company in Africa. The project upgrades the main road to a modern two-lane highway to promote tourism, improve safety and shorten this strategic transportation axis in the Rift Valley Travel time on board.

Before the consortium called the Rift Valley Highway starts work, it will conduct an environmental and social impact assessment based on World Bank standards. It is expected that the financial settlement of PPP transactions will be completed by the end of 2021.

The project will last 42 months and will be constructed by Sogea-Satom and Vinci Construction Terrassement, a subsidiary of Vinci Construction in Kenya. Editor/Huang Lijun
