In order to meet the development requirements of high-speed passenger rail transportation that will continue to accelerate in the future, on October 21, the national key research and development program "Advanced Rail Transit" key special project developed by CRRC Reagents-400km/h cross-border interconnection high-speed EMUs rolled off the assembly line. The train has made major breakthroughs in speed and interconnection standards.

The 400km/h high-speed EMU is the research result of the 2016 "Key Technologies for High-speed Passenger Transport Equipment with Speeds of 400km/h and Above" project of the Ministry of Science and Technology. The goal is to develop three 400km/h trains, which will be developed by CRRC Long Bus Company and CRRC Tangshan. The company and CRRC Qingdao Sifang are responsible.

On October 21, the two trains developed by CRRC Changchun and CRRC Tangshan rolled off the line at the same time. The 400km/h high-speed train in Qingdao Sifang has not officially rolled off the line.

At present, China's fastest high-speed rail has a speed of 350km/h, which is also the fastest high-speed rail in the world. Wang Lei, the chief designer of CRRC who participated in the research and development of the project, previously told Jiandao News that China has not put on the agenda for the construction of a high-speed rail with a speed of 400 kilometers per hour. CRRC's development of the train is mainly for technical reserves.

According to Wang Lei, the design speed of the car is 400km/h, and the experimental speed can reach 440km/h. Follow-up tests will be carried out on domestic high-speed railways and form a pedigree product.

At present, there are four major gauge standards for global railways (standard gauge 1,435 mm, Russian wide gauge 1,520 mm, European wide gauge 1,676 mm, and meter gauge 1067 mm). When ordinary trains are engaged in transnational railway transportation between countries with different gauges It is necessary to replace the train bogie before crossing the border, which will consume more time and cost.

CRRC said that the high-speed trains rolling off the line this time adopt variable gauge bogies and built-in axle box bogies, which can meet the needs of different railway gauge lines in different countries and cover 90% of the global railway network. Operate in -25℃ to 50℃ temperature environment. These features will enhance the cross-border interconnection capabilities of trains and at the same time help China's high-speed rail "go global."

Wang Lei previously introduced to Jiemian News that, in addition to the Chinese domestic market, the trains developed by CRRC Changchun will mainly target the Russian market, the trains of CRRC Tangshan will target the European market, and the trains of Qingdao Sifang will target the Southeast Asian market.

The 400 km/h EMU developed by CRRC Tangshan Company adopts a 4-motor, 4 tow, and 8-car marshalling structure. It has business seats, first-class seats, and second-class seats, with a total capacity of 576 people. It is the same as the existing "Fuxing" EMU. The passenger capacity is the same.

Thanks to the extensive application of lightweight materials such as aluminum-magnesium alloy and carbon fiber in trains, the weight of the car body is greatly reduced. When the train runs at a high speed of 400km/h, compared with the existing EMU, it can save energy by more than 10%, and the unit energy consumption is greatly reduced.

As the speed increases, the aerodynamic noise of high-speed trains will increase significantly. When the speed reached 300 kilometers, the aerodynamic noise of high-speed trains had exceeded wheel-rail noise and became the main noise source. According to the experimental data of CRRC Tangshan Company, when the speed reaches 400 kilometers per hour, the internal noise of the new high-speed rail carriage is within 62 decibels, and the noise level reaches the excellent level.

The 400 km/h EMU also uses an intelligent automatic driving assistance system to control the running status in real time, calculate the best operation plan, and guide the driver to drive scientifically.

At the same time, the active operation and maintenance application platform on the train will monitor the health of the train in real time, and realize the health management of key components based on big data analysis to ensure operational safety and reduce maintenance costs. Editor/Xu Shengpeng
