Solar photovoltaic power generation is a renewable energy power generation technology with the most ideal characteristics of sustainable development. On November 3, 2020, Karaganda State is vigorously promoting the development of new energy projects. Up to now, the state has 4 photovoltaic power stations with a total installed capacity of 200 MW in operation.
The four photovoltaic power stations are located in Saran, Jezkazgan, Balkhash and Akadr. In addition, Karaganda also has a number of biogas stations and hydroelectric power stations in operation.
Statistics at the end of 2019 show that the power generation of new energy power generation projects in the state can reach 176 million kWh, and the power generation in the first quarter of this year reached 54 million kWh.
The Karaganda state government is planning to work with KAZ GREEN ENERGY to build a photovoltaic power station with an installed capacity of 100 megawatts in the state. The power station covers an area of 140 hectares and will be equipped with 192 350 solar panels. Each panel will generate 520 watts. The entire station can generate 170 million watts a year.
It is expected that in August 2021, the first phase of the new photovoltaic power station (50 MW) will be completed, and the remaining part will be completed in December 2021. The photovoltaic power station can reduce carbon emissions by nearly 170,000. The power station will provide energy for related projects of the Kazakh Copper Company, and the investment is expected to be recovered within 7-8. All materials used in the project are produced by local enterprises in Kazakhstan. Editor/Sang Xiaomei
