On November 6, 2020, the Subotica City Council of Serbia said that it had approved a detailed supervision plan for the construction of a 600-megawatt wind farm by the local company Maestrale Ring. Maestrale Ring is a subsidiary of Fintel Energija.

The Subotica City Council said in a statement on Thursday that the wind farm will be built on 6,700 hectares of land and will generate 1,000 kWh of electricity per year, enough to meet the energy needs of 200,000 households.

The Director of Urban Planning of Subotica said: "The detailed control plan is only the first step and a prerequisite for the development of the project. Through cooperation with relevant departments and provincial agencies, investors will further develop this project until it is completed."

According to data from the Serbian Business Register, Fintel Energija, a Serbian subsidiary of the Italian Fintel Energia Group, owns all the capital of Maestrale Ring.

In February 2020, Fintel Energija announced plans to build Europe's largest onshore wind farm in Serbia. At the time, the company stated that the wind farm would be located in Vojvodina with an installed capacity of 572 megawatts.
