[TANESCO signs power purchase agreements with 6 power producers]<p>Tanzania's state-owned power company TANESCO has signed power purchase agreements (PPA) with six independent power producers (IPP), which are developing multiple renewable energy projects in the East African country. According to the power purchase agreement, Tanzania Power Supply Co., Ltd. will purchase 19.16 MW of electricity generated by the 36 kW hydropower project in Makete Ijangala Falls, and the 1.7 MW Madope hydropower project on the Madope River is located in 9 states. The kW Luponde Hydropower Project on the Nyombelu Holo River and the 1.2 MW Maguta Hydropower Project on the Luxor River are located in Kilolo. Other projects include the 5 MW hydropower project developed by NextGen Solawazi in the Kigoma Special Economic Zone, and the 10 MWp solar power plant developed by SSI Energy Tanzania.
