According to Shanxi’s 14th Five-Year Plan, Shanxi’s goal in the transportation sector in the next five years is to build a modern comprehensive transportation system, and in terms of railway transportation, it plans to start construction of five high-speed rails on the basis of the continued construction of the project. , And these five high-speed railways are also inter-provincial lines, and strive to improve the high-speed railway channels out of the province.

Xiongxin High Speed Rail

The Xiongxin High-speed Railway is a high-speed railway connecting Hebei Xiong'an New District and Shanxi Xinzhou City. The project feasibility study was approved by the state on December 31, 2020. On January 11, 2021, the National Development and Reform Commission website officially released the full text of the project feasibility study report. .

According to the approved route, it starts from Xiong'an Station of Beijing-Xiong Intercity Railway and passes through Xiong'an New District of Hebei Province, Qingyuan District of Baoding City and Wangdu, Quyang, Fuping counties, Wutai Mountain Scenic Area of Shanxi Province, Wutai County and Dingxiang County of Xinzhou City , Connected to Xinzhou West Railway Station, with a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. The underground section of the Xiongan New Area will be laid out using the proposed east-west axis tunnel project, and related parking yards and parking lines will be constructed simultaneously. The line construction period will be 4.5 years.

The main line of the project is 342 kilometers long and 114.719 kilometers in Shanxi Province. The whole line has 12 stations including Xiong’an, Xiong’an West, Xiaoli, Baoding East, Baoding South, Wangdu North (Tangyao), Quyang, Fuping, Wutaishan, Wutai County, Dingxiang North, Xinzhou West, among which Xiaoli Station For the reserved station.

The Xiongxin High-speed Railway is the first high-speed railway project approved for a design speed of 350 km/h in Shanxi Province. It is an important channel project for Shanxi to serve the Xiongan New Area and integrate into the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei integrated development. In the future, with the completion of the Xiongxin High-speed Railway, the connection between Shanxi and Xiong'an New Area will be further strengthened. Shanxi can enter Beijing through the Xiongxin High-speed Railway and the Beijing-Xiong Intercity, forming the third high-speed rail channel into Beijing.

Ji-Ohara High Speed Rail

Ji-Dayuan High-speed Railway Jining via Datong to Yuanping High-speed Railway starts from Ulanchabu Station of Hu-Zhang High-speed Railway in the north, passing Chayouqianqi, Fengzhen, Datong, Shuozhou City, connecting Xinzhou City in the south, and connecting Taiyuan City via Daxi High-speed Railway , The design speed is 250 kilometers per hour, and the design period is 4.5 years.

There are 8 stations in Wulanchabu, West Fengzhen, South Datong, East Huairen, West Yingxian, South Shanyin, East Shuozhou and West Daixian. After the project is completed, the journey time from Hohhot to Taiyuan and Datong to Taiyuan will be shortened to 2.5 hours and 76 minutes respectively.

In fact, the Shanxi section of the high-speed railway held a groundbreaking ceremony in Shuozhou on June 30, 2020 and announced the start of construction, but in fact it was only the beginning of the construction of the Hengshan Tunnel. The proposal for the 14th Five-Year Plan of Shanxi states that the construction of the Xiongxin high-speed rail will be started, which means that the full-scale construction of the Shanxi section will be started, and the northward passage of the Shanxi high-speed rail will be opened.

Taisui High Speed Rail

The Tai-Sui High-speed Railway is a high-speed railway connecting Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province and Suide County, Yulin City, Shaanxi Province. It is an important part of the Qingyin Channel. According to the National Medium and Long-term Railway Network Planning, the Qingyin Channel between Taiyuan and Suide Construction.

The line starts from Taiyuan South Station in the east, passes Qingxu, Wenshui, Fenyang, and along Xiaoliu Railway to Zhongyang, Luliang, Liulin, and Wubao, and finally leads to the planned Yanyu-E high-speed railway Suide West Station. The length of the newly-built main line of the project is 229 kilometers, 177 kilometers in Shanxi Province, and the design speed is 350km/h. It is planned to set up 8 stations in Qingxu South, Wenshui, Fenyang West, Zhongyang South, Luliang South, Liulin South, Yihe Town, and Suide West.

The pre-feasibility study report meeting was held in Taiyuan in July 2020, and it is still in the early stage of the project. Shanxi’s 14th Five-Year Plan stated that it would start construction of the project, while Ningxia also expressed its efforts to start construction of the Yinchuan-Taiyuan high-speed rail during the 14th Five-Year Plan.

Talk to Han-Chang High Speed Rail

The Liaohan-Changzhou high-speed railway line spans the three provinces of Shanxi, Hebei, and Shandong. It starts from Changzhi East Station of Taijiao High-speed Railway and passes through Lucheng, Licheng, Shexian, and Wu'an to Handan East Station. After exiting the station, it goes all the way along the Handan-Jilin Railway Channel Introduce Zhengji High-speed Railway to Liaocheng West Station from the east.

The total length of the project is 295 kilometers, of which 52 kilometers in Shanxi. In January 2020, Changzhi, Handan, and Liaocheng held the signing ceremony of the tripartite cooperation framework agreement for the Liaohan-Changzhou high-speed rail project. The three cities stated that they would start the preparation of the feasibility study for the Changzhi-Handan-Liaocheng section as soon as possible to demonstrate the Changzhi-Handan-Liaocheng railway project We will strive to start the construction of the Liaohan-Changsha high-speed rail project in the early stage of the "14th Five-Year Plan". In May, Handan began bidding for the feasibility study of the project.

In 2020, the National Railway Administration responded to the project’s relevant suggestions and stated that it will actively support the inclusion of the Chang-Han-Liao high-speed rail into the relevant plans to create conditions for early construction.

Hanhehou Intercity Railway

The initial planning starting point of the Hanhe-Hou Intercity Railway is the Hancheng East Station of the West-Korea Intercity Railway. The line crosses the Yellow River through Hejin City, Jishan County, Xinjiang County, and Houma City in Shanxi Province, and ends at Houma West Station on the Daxi High-speed Railway. The total length of the line is 84.9 kilometers, and the design speed is 250km/h. It is planned to set up Hancheng East Station, Hejin Station, Jishan North Station, Xinjiangnan Station and Houma West Station.

As early as in the implementation plan of the "Guanzhong Plain Urban Agglomeration Development Plan", it was mentioned that the construction of the Hancheng-Hejin-Houma intercity railway is still in the early stage of the project, and there is little progress news.
