Tokyo TEPCO PG Co., Ltd. (TEPCO PG) and Thailand's ATT Consultants Company Limited (ATT) jointly announced the signing of a consulting agreement with Thailand's Metropolitan Electric Power Authority (MEA) on February 27, 2021 to provide consulting services for underground substation construction projects. This is the first time TEPCO has provided consulting services for the construction of underground substations in Thailand.

MEA plans to build a new underground substation on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Lumpini Park to cope with the improvement of the landscape project. Building an underground substation under the park is a necessary measure to ensure safety and protect the surrounding environment. TEPCO PG has more than 40 years of experience in the design, construction, operation and maintenance of underground substations in Japan and overseas, and carried out the "preliminary feasibility study of a robust and compact underground substation in Bangkok" which led to the award of the contract.

In this project, TEPCO PG proposed the basic design of the underground substation in consideration of local safety and surrounding environment, and reviewed the equipment specifications and layout drawings of the underground substation. Through this work, TEPCO PG will help MEA realize its plan to build underground substations in public places.

TEPCO PG will continue to use the facilities planning, design and grid operation technology developed through domestic power transmission and distribution business and overseas consulting services to meet the challenges of overseas business expansion including underground substation construction consulting.
