A few days ago, the power transmission and transformation project of the Congo (DRC) GCK Cement Plant undertaken by China Xidian Group was successfully put into operation. The project is located in Kinlikasi, Congo, and includes the transformation of an RC substation, the construction of a new GCK substation, and the construction of a 12-kilometer 120kV double-circuit steel pipe pole line.

GCK Cement Plant is currently the cement production base with the largest production capacity in Congo, and one of the important pillar enterprises in the infrastructure construction of Congo (DRC). In recent years, due to energy supply problems, the GCK cement plant has insufficient production capacity, which has restricted the local economic development to a certain extent. The completion of the project will completely improve the energy supply problem of the cement plant and will greatly alleviate the power supply pressure in Likasi City. At the same time, it will effectively promote local employment.
The power transmission and transformation project of the GCK Cement Plant in the Democratic Republic of Congo was signed by the group's subsidiary Xidian International and the Congo (DRC) National Electricity Company SNEL in March 2020 and was launched in the same month. Soon after the project was signed, the local new crown pneumonia epidemic broke out, which brought huge challenges to the project implementation.
The raging epidemic not only prevented the on-site personnel from entering the site, but also the design units, suppliers and other related enterprises that were unable to resume work and production normally, but also directly caused the continuous increase of logistics and transportation time and costs. With the improvement of the epidemic prevention management level, project implementation is difficult So many...

In response, the West Electric Congo-Kinshasa project team responded quickly according to the deployment of the domestic base camp. The personnel originally scheduled to return to the country offered to postpone their return. The domestic personnel rushed to the project site as soon as they completed the vaccination. In the following three hundred days, the project team kept a close eye on the construction schedule, raced against time to ensure power transmission with extraordinary determination, extraordinary measures, and extraordinary strengths, "anti-epidemic, maintaining growth, and courageous responsibility", using high-quality products and first-class services. A satisfactory answer was handed in to the owner, which was highly praised by Congo (DRC) power grid company SNEL. Editor/Sang Xiaomei
