On July 20, 2021, China's 600 km/h high-speed maglev officially rolled off the assembly line. The world's first 600 km/h maglev train system is currently the fastest ground transportation tool and a cutting-edge scientific and technological achievement in the world's rail transit field. As an international cutting-edge technology, high-speed maglev is a major "commanding height" in the world's rail transit field and a strategic high ground for global transportation technology competition. At present, the system has completed the integration and system joint debugging.

In order to master the key technology of high-speed maglev, under the support of the "13th Five-Year" National Key Research and Development Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Advanced Rail Transit Key Special Project, organized by CRRC and led by CRRC Sifang, brings together more than 30 domestic maglev and high-speed rail fields Universities, research institutes and enterprises "production, study, research and application" jointly launched the research and development of a high-speed maglev transportation system with a speed of 600 kilometers per hour. The project was launched in October 2016, a test prototype was developed in 2019, and it was successfully tested on the test line of Tongji University in Shanghai in June 2020. After system optimization, the final technical plan was determined, and a complete system was developed in January 2021. And started a six-month joint debugging and joint test.

On July 17, 2021, CRRC Sifang Co., Ltd. released the high-speed maglev mascot "High-speed Maglev Kid". According to the plan, after the 600 kilometers per hour high-speed maglev engineering prototype system is rolled off the assembly line, my country will form a complete set of high-speed maglev technology and engineering capabilities. It is reported that the 600 km/h high-speed maglev project prototype that rolled off the assembly line in Qingdao this time adopts a 5-section marshalling. This is the fastest ground transportation tool currently available. It is efficient, fast, safe and reliable, with strong transportation capacity, flexible marshalling, and punctual comfort. , Maintenance convenience, green environmental protection and other technical advantages. Liang Jianying, deputy general manager and chief engineer of CRRC Qingdao Sifang Locomotive and Rolling Stock Co., Ltd., introduced that both the high-speed maglev train and the Fuxing EMU have a masculine, tough and domineering super-high appearance. However, the total head length of the Fuxing EMU is 12 meters, while the total head length of the high-speed maglev train is 16 meters. The biggest difference between the two is that the tracked high-speed rail uses wheels to act on the track and contact the wheels to drive the train forward. The high-speed maglev train uses electromagnetic force to achieve non-contact levitation, driving and guidance between the train and the track. Since the maglev train is suspended in the air, it does not need to touch the track when traveling, and its resistance comes only from the air, which can achieve higher speed operation.

As an emerging high-speed transportation mode, high-speed maglev has the advantages of high speed, safety and reliability, low noise, low vibration, large passenger capacity, and low maintenance. At present, the maximum operating speed of high-speed rail is 350 km/h, the cruise speed of aircraft is 800-900 km/h, and the high-speed maglev with a speed of 600 km/h can fill the speed gap between high-speed rail and air transportation. The high-speed maglev with a speed of 600 kilometers per hour is rich in application scenarios. It can be used for long-distance transportation, that is, "corridorized" transportation, forming high-speed corridors between large-scale hub cities or urban agglomerations to promote coordinated development between regions; it is also suitable for short- and medium-distance passenger transportation, namely "Commuterization" and "same-city" transportation are used for commuting in big cities or intercity connection between neighboring cities in urban agglomerations, creating a half-hour to one-hour economic circle, and promoting the "integration" and "same-city of metropolitan areas and urban agglomerations" Development.

5 to 10 years on the high-speed maglev train

Although the 600-kilometer-per-hour high-speed maglev project prototype is about to roll off the assembly line, there is currently no track line required for the 600-kilometer-per-hour high-speed maglev train in China. Previously, many places stated that high-speed maglev lines were to be built, and they have entered the stage of research and demonstration, and related plans have been written. Including Shanghai-Hangzhou Maglev Line, Chengyu Maglev, etc. It is worth noting that there are currently three maglev lines in operation in my country, namely the Beijing Maglev S1 line, the Changsha Maglev Express Line and the Shanghai Maglev Train Demonstration Line that was put into use first. Especially the Changsha Maglev Express Line, which was successfully tested in October 2005 and officially operated in May 2016. This is China's first commercial operation demonstration line for China's maglev with independent intellectual property rights, and Changsha has also become China's second China has become the sixth country in the world to successfully develop a maglev train. However, because it is the first line independently developed and built, the technology is not very mature, so the design speed is not high, only 100 kilometers per hour.

On January 30, 2021, when Liang Jianying, deputy general manager and chief engineer of CRRC Sifang Co., Ltd. participated in the CCTV "Let’s Talk" column, Liang was asked when he could actually ride a high-speed maglev train with a speed of 600 kilometers per hour. Liang Jianying The answer given is 5 to 10 years in the future. Editor/Xing Wentao
