On September 7, 2021, the "First Public Announcement of the Environmental Impact Assessment of the New Yanyi Railway Project" was released on the Jiangsu Environmental Protection Public Network. It is understood that the project completed the preparation of the feasibility study report in October 2020, and completed the feasibility study review and review in March 2021, and has now entered the preliminary design stage. It is expected that the approval of the feasibility study report of the Yantai-Xichang-Yichang Railway will be completed in October 2021, and the preliminary design of the entire line (excluding the section across the river) will be completed in November. It is expected to officially start construction in 2022.

Yanyi Railway

The new Yanyi Railway is located on the north-south central axis of Jiangsu Province. The route starts from Yancheng City in northern Jiangsu, enters Taizhou City in Suzhong at Xinghua, crosses the Yangtze River moat at Jingjiang after passing Taixing to the southeast, and enters Wuxi in southern Jiangsu, passing through Jiangyin and Huishan, and ends at Wuxi after passing southeast of Changzhou. In Yixing City, the main line is 310.757km in length.

There are 11 stations on the whole line, namely Yancheng, Anfeng West (reserved), Xinghua East, Taizhou South, Taixing East, Jingjiang East, Jiangyin, Huishan, Taihu West, Yixing West (reserved), Yixing, etc.

The Yancheng-Taiwan-Xiangchang-Yi Railway starts from the existing Yancheng Station of the Xuyan Railway in the north. It is led by the reserved line in the south throat of Yancheng Station and routed along the east side of Yantong. After exiting Yancheng City, it crosses the Yantong High-speed Railway and turns southwest into Xinghua City. , Reserve Anfeng West Station, and then set up Xinghua East Station in the east of Xinghua City, and then go south, cross Qiyang Expressway and Ningqi Railway, and route the cables on the east side of Yinjiang River, connecting to Taizhou South Station, and Shanghai Yurong High-speed railway combined station and yard;

Then turn to the southeast, set up Taixing East Station and Jingjiang East Station, use Jiangyin's third river-crossing channel to cross the Yangtze River moat, enter Jiangnan, turn to the southwest, merge at Jiangyin Station and Nanyanjiang Railway, and then turn to the south. The existing Shanghai-Nanjing inter-city Huishan station is located on the south side of the Huishan Station Yanyichang, after leaving Huishan Station, enters Changzhou City to set up Taihu West Station, and then reserves Yixing West Station along the west of Yixing City, crossing Changshen Expressway and Nanjing-Hangzhou High-speed Railway Then connect to Yixing Station.
