China Harbour has recently won the PPP investment project in the F area of Thailand Port Phase III. The investment amount is about 1.01 billion US dollars, the project concession period is 35 years, and the total construction period is 4 years.

Laem Chabang Port is located in Bangkok, Thailand, about 127 kilometers from the city center. It is Thailand's largest container port, accounting for 80% of Thailand's national throughput. This project is one of the key projects in Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) development plan and one of the key projects to realize the "Thailand 4.0" development strategy. The target port will be the largest gateway port in Southeast Asia, and it will also be the reality of the future China-Thailand railway project. The end point belongs to the core project of Thailand's national economic development strategy and is of great strategic significance.

Since 2018, the company has started competitive bidding, and has successively completed project due diligence, feasibility demonstration, decision-making approval, PPP agreement negotiation and cooperation negotiation, etc., and finally won the bid. This time, the winning port project in Thailand is the first time that a Chinese company has used a joint venture in the port sector to participate in international bidding and successfully won the bid. It is also the first investment project for China Harbour to deepen territorial cooperation in the Thai market and successfully win the bid. It is a milestone. It reflects the company's ability to participate in international PPP competitive projects. In the later stage, the company will participate in the whole process of the construction and operation of the project. This project will also become another important breakthrough for the company in the port investment and construction value chain following the Nigerian Lekki Port project.Editor/XuNing
