On December 31, 2021, the newly built Nansha Port Station sounded a long whistle, and a container train full of grain, timber, coiled steel and other cargoes slowly pulled out, marking the Nansha Port Railway, a key project in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Officially completed and opened to traffic. As a passenger and freight dual-track railway, the Nansha Port Railway is currently the first to open its freight function. Passenger stations along the line are still under construction, and the passenger function will be activated in the next step.
