The Abu Dhabi National Petroleum Construction Company, which is wholly-owned by the National Ocean Dredging Company, has won a major contract from Saudi Aramco for the country’s Zulf offshore oilfield related projects.NMDC stated in a statement to the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange where its shares are traded that the contract is valued at 8.2 billion dirhams ($2.23 billion). The company stated that the project will be implemented within three years. NPCC merged with NMDC in 2021, and started operations in the Arabian Gulf, South Asia and Southeast Asia. It plans to expand to Africa and the Caspian Sea region. The company has a fleet of 23 offshore vessels equipped with modern equipment to support its shallow and deep water operations in the oil and gas fields.
The award of the new contract is on top of other contracts won by the company in 2021, including the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company’s US$744 million contract for the development of the offshore Belbazem block to increase its light crude oil production capacity To 45,000 barrels per day, and the first barrel of oil is expected in 2023.
NPCC also signed a strategic agreement with the Egyptian Petroleum Project and Technology Consulting Company to explore engineering, procurement and construction opportunities in the UAE and Egypt, and signed a preliminary agreement with French Technip Energies to form a joint venture to cooperate in the UAE’s energy transformation project and The wider Middle East and North Africa region. Its parent company, NMDC, won a major contract for works related to the Shamal Development Marine Project from Abu Dhabi Port. The total contract value is 1.3 billion dirhams.
