According to a statement, the Thai power generation authority is seeking to start the first phase of the expansion of the North Bangkok power plant, adding an 830 MW natural gas power plant that will be put into commercial operation by 2028.

The power plant will be built in the same area as the current power plant in northern Bangkok, at the EGAT headquarters in Bang Kruai District, Nonthaburi Province. The North Bangkok Power Plant (Expansion) Phase I project has been incorporated into the Thai Electric Power Development Plan B.E. 2561-2580 or PDP2018 to strengthen Bangkok's long-term power security.

EGAT and SECOT Ltd. recently held a public hearing in Nonthaburi and Bangkok to help them with their environmental impact assessment. Residents' concerns include health impacts, water treatment to the Chao Phraya River, care of aquatic animals, noise, emissions of dust particles and pollutants. Editor / Zhao Yongjing
