With the rapid economic development of Bangladesh, few ports have brought great pressure on Bangladesh's transportation. We all know that most of Bangladesh's transportation is inland navigation, so port construction has great potential and is necessary for the country. Recently, the construction of Matabari Deepwater Port has been approved again, and has been invested by the Economic Commission of the country.

The project, located in the Cocos Bazaar area, is the first deepwater port project in Bangladesh, with a total investment of US $ 2.133 billion. The Bangladesh government, the Chittagong management department and the Japan Cooperation Agency signed an agreement to implement the project. The Japan Cooperation Agency will provide 128.93 billion Taka for the project, and the Bangladesh government and Chittagong management will contribute 48.84 billion Taka.

The project has a planned construction period of 6 years and is expected to be completed by 2026. After completion, it will become the fourth seaport of Bangladesh. At that time, it will share the transportation of other ports in Bangladesh and greatly ease the local traffic pressure. Editor / Li Dan
