The G3 Tongling Yangtze River Highway and Railway Bridge has successfully completed a world-class load test, with 214 heavy-duty trucks forming a 9000 ton "steel torrent" to conduct the ultimate inspection of this world-class project with a main span of 988 meters. This is the world's first comprehensive load test conducted on a large-span double layered cable-stayed suspension system dual-use bridge for both public and railway purposes.

As the largest single project since the establishment of Tongling City, this bridge innovatively integrates three river crossing functions: expressway, intercity railway, and freight railway. The experiment adopted a nighttime graded loading method, using 134 highway trucks and 80 railway trucks to accurately test the performance indicators of various key parts of the bridge. All data were better than the design expectations.

This bridge will reshape the transportation pattern of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, "said the project leader. At present, the project has entered the final sprint stage and is expected to have the conditions for opening to traffic in July. After completion, it will significantly enhance the transportation capacity on both sides of the Anhui River, strengthen the connection between the Yangtze River Delta and the central and western regions, and become a new engine for promoting high-quality regional development.
