On December 1, 2022, Jiangsu Communications Network released the bid evaluation results of some projects of Haitai Yangtze River Tunnel Highway. China Railway 14th Bureau and CCCC Tunnel Engineering Bureau won the bid. The project is divided into two bid sections and the bid price is about 9.06 billion yuan.

Project overview

Part of the Haitai Yangtze River Tunnel Highway Project starts from the intersection of Shanghai Shaanxi Expressway and Shanghai Shaanxi Expressway 2.7 km east of the Dieshi Bridge Interchange, continues to cross the Ningqi Railway southward, Nantong Port Port Area to Tongzhouwan Port Area Railway Special Line Phase I Project, crosses Xutong River and 352 County Highway southwestward, continues to cross 356 Provincial Highway southward, then routes along the west side of Diegang Highway, and crosses the Yangtze River in the form of a tunnel in the west of Haitai Qidu, Go ashore at the east side of Baimao Estuary, cross National Highway 346 to the southwest, and then stop at Shanghai Wuhan Expressway.

The Haitai Yangtze River Tunnel crosses the Yangtze River with a shield tunnel scheme. The shield tunnel has an inner diameter of 14.6m, an outer diameter of 16.0m, a segment thickness of 0.7m, a segment ring width of 2m, and a seepage resistance grade of P15.

The bidding scope of HT-A3 bid section covers the construction of civil works for the shield section of the right river crossing line of Haitai Yangtze River Tunnel Highway, and the construction of tunnel structures and related ancillary structures in the operation period of the working shaft and subsequent sections and open cut sections in the north of the river due to the impact of the shield section construction after the shield starts and runs through; Reserved and embedded construction of traffic engineering, electromechanical engineering, etc. within the above construction scope; Construction of flood control compensation works in the area affected by the shield tunneling across the Yangtze River levee on the north and south sides of the Yangtze River; Construction of temporary works required for the implementation of the Project.

The bidding scope of HT-A4 bid section covers the construction of civil works for the shield section of the left river crossing line of Haitai Yangtze River Tunnel Highway, and the construction of tunnel structures and related ancillary structures in the operating period of the working shaft and subsequent sections and open cut sections in the south of the Yangtze River due to the impact of the shield section construction after the shield starts and runs through; Reserved and embedded construction of traffic engineering, electromechanical engineering, etc. within the above construction scope; Construction of temporary works required for the implementation of the Project.

The planned construction period is 57 months, and the service period is from December 10, 2022 to September 10, 2027.
