At the construction site of the Maerdai Hydropower Station in Qinghai at an altitude of 3,300 meters, more than 3,600 builders worked day and night to overcome difficulties such as high cold and hypoxia. At present, 85% of the dam filling project has been completed, and several electromechanical projects have been successfully completed.
Mardai Hydropower Station is located on the main stream of the Yellow River about 5 kilometers upstream of Lajia Town, Maqin County, Guoluo Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province. The base is the hydropower station with the highest altitude and the largest installed capacity under construction in the upper reaches of the Yellow River, and the backbone power point of the national west-to-east power transmission. It is also a strong support for Qinghai to build a national clean energy industry highland and build a new power system. The dual carbon target has far-reaching significance. The total installed capacity of the hydropower station is 2.2 million kilowatts. After it is put into operation, the average annual power generation is 7.304 billion kwh, which can save 2.56 million tons of standard coal and reduce 8.16 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions every year.

As the main participating unit, the Mardan Project Department of the First Company of China Hydropower Third Engineering Bureau kept a close eye on the annual project construction goals, seized the golden period of construction, overcome difficulties such as plateau hypoxia, personnel and equipment efficiency degradation, and construction organization, reversed the construction period, Combat on the wall chart, decompose the progress of the project into weeks, and assign responsibilities to people to ensure 24-hour uninterrupted construction on site. In order to promote the construction of the project, more than 3,200 construction and management personnel have been employed in the Martain hydropower station under construction. 140 wide-body vehicles are used for double-shift operations every day, with an average daily transportation of more than 800 vehicle trips and a total filling volume of 10.55 million cubic meters. The average filling strength is about 500,000 cubic meters. The night shift personnel in the project department's work area coordinated and directed the on-site machinery and equipment to carry out the filling. More than 30 sets of large-scale machinery and equipment carried out the filling and rolling operations without interruption.

The hydropower people fighting on the Qinghai Plateau will continue to carry forward the style of self-improvement and the spirit of lack of oxygen, and use the group company to build clean energy, create a green environment, and serve the corporate mission of smart cities.
