On March 3, 2023, the Anshun Municipal Development and Reform Commission issued a message: In order to thoroughly implement the decisions and arrangements of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, accelerate the construction of the new land and sea corridor in the west, improve the layout of the regional road network, and promote the coordinated development of the regional economy, with the joint efforts of China National Railway Group Co., Ltd., Guizhou Province and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the National Development and Reform Commission recently approved the feasibility study report of the Huangtong-Baise Railway.

The line starts from Huangtong Station of Shanghai-Kunming Railway, passes through Zhenning Autonomous County, Ziyun Autonomous County, Wangmo County of Guizhou Province, Leye County and Lingyun County of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and connects to Baise Station by Nanning-Kunming Railway.

The total length of the line is 314.6 kilometers, including 302.9 kilometers of the new main line, 11.7 kilometers of the second line of the Yongle-Baise section of the Nanning-Kunming Railway, 18 stations will be set up in the near future, 10 stations will be reserved, and the construction conditions of the connecting line from Guiyang to this line will be reserved in Huangtong area.

The main technical standard is National Railway Class I; The number of main lines is new single line; The design speed is 160 km/h. The total investment of the project is 33.854 billion yuan, accounting for 70% of the total capital of 23.698 billion yuan. The construction period of the project is 5 years.

In the next step, the Municipal Comprehensive Transportation and Regional Economic Development Center will actively cooperate with the construction unit to carry out coordination services such as housing and land acquisition and social stability maintenance in accordance with the work arrangement of the Provincial Development and Reform Commission and the Provincial Comprehensive Transportation and Regional Economic Development Center, and fully promote the construction of the Huang-Bai Railway.
