[Guangdong clarifies the key tasks of the 14th Five-Year Railway Construction] During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the total scale of railway construction in Guangdong Province will exceed 5,000 kilometers, and the total project investment will exceed 1.6 trillion yuan. By 2025, the mileage of the railway network in operation and under construction in the Greater Bay Area will reach 4,700 kilometers, and the Greater Bay Area on the track will be basically completed. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, there are four key construction tasks for the railways in Guangdong Province: to speed up the construction of high-speed rail corridors such as Guangzhan, Guangshanshan, Meilong, Meiwu, Shenjiang, Shenshan, Shennan, Zhuzhao, etc.; construction of inter-city railways such as district and eastern Guangdong inter-city railways. At the end of the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the operating mileage of intercity railways in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area will reach more than 800 kilometers; speed up the construction of Jiehui Railway, Shantou-Guangzhou-Port Railway, Zhanjiang Baomangang Railway and Shugang Railway; speed up the construction of Guangzhou Baiyun Station, Reconstruction of Guangzhou East Railway Station, Guangzhou East-Xintang Fifth and Sixth Line Project, Guangzhou-Guangzhou South Connection Line Project, Guangzhou Station Reconstruction and Guangzhou-Guangzhou East Third and Fourth Line Project, Shenzhen Xili Station and related projects and other railway hub projects. Guangdong Province is promoting the reform and innovation of the railway investment and financing system, and promoting the diversification of provincial-administered railway investment entities. Provincial-administered railway projects have successively adopted various investment and financing models such as road-province joint venture, provincial sole proprietorship, and provincial-city cooperation, and introduced social capital to participate. At present, some intercity railway projects in eastern Guangdong and Guangzhou and Shenzhen metropolitan areas have introduced social capital to participate in investment and construction. Raising construction funds through multiple methods and channels has effectively accelerated the construction of railway projects in Guangdong Province. Editor/Xu Shengpeng
