On July 11, 2023, Guangzhou Nansha held the third quarter major project commencement and completion activities, as well as the construction of the Nansha section of the Huangpu Nansha East Expressway. This event has a total of 54 major projects that have started and completed, including 29 construction projects, 21 completed projects, and 4 capped projects, with a total investment of over 130 billion yuan. Among them, major infrastructure and industrial projects such as the Huangpu Nansha East Expressway (Nansha section) and the intelligent driving and ride control system research and development and production project (Phase I) have started construction.

Project Overview

The Huangpu Nansha East Expressway (Nansha Section) starts from Shawan Waterway Bridge in the north and ends at Jigushan Road (connecting with Shiziyang Passage) in the south. The whole line is about 5.1 km long and the design speed of the main line is 80 km/h.

Our main line project will connect Nansha and Huangpu more conveniently. After completion, the distance between the two places will be reduced from over an hour now to half an hour. The auxiliary road project can better serve the development of surrounding areas and solve traffic problems. The relevant person in charge of the Nansha District Construction Center said that the Huangpu Nansha East Expressway Project also connects the Nansha Bridge with the Shiziyang Channel under construction, which will better play the role of traffic network interconnection.

After the completion of the project, the traffic pressure of Beijing Zhuhai Expressway can be effectively alleviated, and the Shayuzhou River Crossing Channel, Hualong River Crossing Channel, Lianhuashan River Crossing Channel, Nansha Bridge, Shiziyang River Crossing Channel will be connected in series, so as to strengthen the mutual connection of various river crossing channels. At the same time, the eastern express and Beijing Zhuhai Express, Zhongshan East Outer Ring, Western Coastal Express, and Guangzhou Zhuhai West Line will form the traffic axis on the west bank of the the Pearl River, which is to support the coordinated development of both banks of Guangzhou, Jointly build an important backbone of the "Golden Inner Bay", which is 100 kilometers around the mouth of the Pearl River.Editor/Ma Xue
