Recently, the feasibility study report of the Foxiang Reservoir project in Longyou County, Quzhou City, Zhejiang Province has been approved by the Provincial Development and Reform Commission. The project is a water conservancy and livelihood project for one county and one reservoir in Quzhou City during the 14th Five Year Plan period. The feasibility study has approved an estimated total investment of 4.431 billion yuan and a total storage capacity of 36.03 million cubic meters.
The Foxiang Reservoir Project is a hilly reservoir that, upon completion, can effectively alleviate the flood control pressure on the Qujiang River in the region and Qiantang River Basin. It can also solve the engineering and water quality water shortage problems in the northern hilly areas of Longyou, providing high-quality water sources for 130000 people and ensuring irrigation water for 15600 acres of farmland.
The water conservancy department of Quzhou is based on projects as the king, actively connecting with the construction of Zhejiang's water network, planning and promoting water conservancy and livelihood projects in six counties (cities, districts), one county and one reservoir in advance during the 14th Five Year Plan period, filling weak links in regional flood control, and serving local economic and social development. It is reported that the total investment of six reservoirs exceeds 20 billion yuan, with a total storage capacity of over 370 million cubic meters. The engineering tasks mainly focus on flood control, irrigation, and water supply, while also improving the comprehensive utilization of regional water ecological environment.Editor/Zhao E
