Recently, the Northeast Three Provinces and One District Multimodal Transport Development Alliance was officially established in Shenyang. 195 enterprises and institutions related to production and manufacturing, transportation, multimodal transportation platform, and industry associations from the four provinces and regions have joined the alliance. We have discussed and decided to strengthen cooperation and exchange, promote deep integration of logistics, data, and industrial chains in the three provinces and one region of Northeast China, and create a high-level multimodal transportation service model.

The four provinces and regions are connected by land and sea, with complete transportation infrastructure, which provides favorable conditions for the development of multimodal transportation. Data shows that the total length of highways in Northeast China is over 600000 kilometers, railways are 34000 kilometers, there are 439 port berths, 47 civil aviation transportation airports have been built, and the accessibility rate of express delivery services in established villages is 100%. 65 sea rail intermodal freight trains, including ore, grain, and containers, have been scheduled to operate, with 196 domestic and foreign trade routes. Container routes have achieved full coverage of core ports in RCEP member countries.

"The establishment of the Three Provinces and One Region Multimodal Transport Alliance will help to jointly build the Northeast Sea Land Corridor and achieve complementary resource advantages. For Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, which is an important production and export base for national energy resources and agricultural and livestock products, the Northeast Sea Land Corridor will help expand the business of road, rail, and water intermodal transportation, reduce transportation and logistics costs, and thereby enhance the market competitiveness of products." said Guo Ying, Director of the Transportation Service Department of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Transportation Department.

As a representative of the company, Han Dong, the Marketing Director of Changchun International Land Port Development Co., Ltd., stated that the alliance has helped expand the company's "circle of friends", effectively weaving nodes from various regions into a network, ensuring resource sharing and information exchange, creating an open and shared cooperation platform for various transportation links, and jointly providing customers with faster logistics services, promoting the high-quality development of the industry.

The high or low logistics costs directly affect the economic efficiency and competitiveness of a region. Regarding how to effectively reduce logistics costs in the Northeast region, representatives at the conference have put forward suggestions, among which "developing high-quality multimodal transportation" is a broad consensus. Experts suggest that in addition to the "hard connectivity" of infrastructure, it is particularly important to strengthen the "information connectivity" of multimodal transportation, promote the integration of information and data from customs, ports, railways, shipping companies, etc., use digitalization and intelligence to efficiently match supply and demand, improve logistics information exchange efficiency, and achieve cost reduction, efficiency increase, and multi-party win-win.
