So far, 83 data center projects have been approved, attracting many industry leading companies such as China Telecom, China Unicom, Alibaba, Baidu, 21Vianet, Qinhuai, and Heying. By the end of 2023, 27 data centers have been successfully put into operation, with 330,000 standard cabinets, 1.53 million servers, and a computing power of up to 7,600P, providing strong support for the development of the regional digital economy.

In terms of industrial layout, Zhangjiakou's data center industry has formed a spatial layout with Huailai, Zhangbei and Xuanhua as the starting areas, and is committed to creating a distinctive, intensive and efficient spatial pattern of multiple parks in one belt, three districts. By cultivating leading big data industry projects, Zhangjiakou has become one of the regions with the fastest development of the big data industry in the country. Especially in the construction of the national hub node of the national integrated computing network, Zhangjiakou has actively accelerated the construction of digital service industry base, Huailai big data industry base, Zhangbei cloud computing base and other parks, forming a distinctive, efficient and intensive spatial layout , becoming the best place to host computing power demand in the Beijing area.

It is worth mentioning that during the construction process of the Zhangjiakou data center cluster, significant progress has been made in Huailai County, Zhangbei County, Xuanhua District and other starting areas. According to the latest news from the Provincial Development and Reform Commission, 12 data center projects have passed energy conservation review and approval since 2024, and all of them are located in Huailai area, further consolidating Zhangjiakou's leading position in the field of data center construction.

According to the "Zhangjiakou Data Center Cluster Construction Plan", in the future, Zhangjiakou will continue to improve its data storage and cloud analysis and processing capabilities to form a massive scale, striving to become the core area of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei hub and a demonstration area for green intensive innovative development by 2025.
