On April 11, 2024, the groundbreaking activity of Jiangsu Kunyu Electrochemical Energy Storage Project was held in Yangkou Port Economic Development Zone. County Party Secretary Chen Huiyu, deputy secretary of the county Party Committee, county governor Chen Lei, county People's Congress Standing Committee Party secretary Chen Changlong, county People's Congress Standing Committee director Jiang Shujian, county Party Committee deputy Secretary Xu Jinbiao and other county four sets of team leaders were invited to participate in the activity, and to start the foundation for the project.

Jiangsu Kunyu electrochemical energy storage project is built by Kunyu Power Co., LTD., with a total investment of 4.5 billion yuan and an area of 300 mu. After the project is expected to be put into operation, it will achieve an annual production capacity of 12GWh of electrochemical energy storage batteries, and annual sales revenue is expected to exceed 6 billion yuan. As a key part of the new energy industry chain of Yangkou Port, since the signing in September last year, the government and enterprises have worked closely to jointly explore the innovative development path of renewable resources + energy storage. The successful landing of the project will inject strong impetus into the optimization of the local industrial structure, the extension of the industrial chain, the expansion of the industrial scale and the development of industrial clusters, and help the county's high-quality economic development.

The commencement of the project reflects the close cooperation and joint efforts of both the government and the enterprise. Since the signing in September 2023, the government and enterprises have been in close communication and collaboration to jointly explore a new model of renewable resources + energy storage development. This mode of cooperation not only contributes to the smooth implementation of the project, but also provides a useful reference for more similar projects in the future.
