On April 12, 2024, tenders for two hybrid energy storage FM projects were launched in Shanxi, with the total scale of the two projects reaching 120MW/62.5MWh.

CLP Jingu Biiguan Hybrid energy storage independent frequency modulation power Station project plans to build a large-scale hybrid energy storage system, its total capacity is not less than 100MW/42.5MWh. In this system, the super capacitor as a key component, its capacity will not be less than 58MW/30s, to provide instantaneous high power output and fast response ability for the power station

Huaneng Zuoquan Power Plant energy storage auxiliary frequency modulation project adopts an advanced hybrid energy storage system, which is composed of 10MW/6min supercapacitor and 10MW/10MWh lithium iron phosphate battery. This configuration not only ensures that the energy storage system has the ability of instantaneous high-power output and rapid response, but also realizes long-term and large-capacity energy storage. Through the application of this hybrid energy storage system, Huaneng Zuoquan power plant will effectively improve the frequency modulation performance, optimize the power supply, and make positive contributions to the stable operation and sustainable development of the power system.

The implementation of the energy storage frequency modulation project will promote the rapid development of Shanxi's energy storage industry. With the advancement of the project, the relevant industrial chain will be further improved, and the research and development, manufacturing and application of energy storage equipment will form a virtuous circle, bringing new growth points to the local economy.
