In the first quarter of this year, the province's import and export of goods trade was 64.23 billion yuan, an increase of 11.3%, which is equivalent to more than 90% of the total value of 2017, which is also the first time that the import and export value of Hainan's trade in goods in a single quarter exceeded 60 billion yuan.

According to reports, Hainan's imports and exports to emerging markets have grown rapidly. In the first quarter, China's imports and exports to countries jointly building the Belt and Road Initiative reached 34.12 billion yuan, up 28.5%; Imports and exports to ASEAN reached 10.79 billion yuan, an increase of 33.5%, and ASEAN remained the largest trading partner of Hainan. During the same period, imports and exports to Africa and Latin America increased by 116.3% and 39.9% respectively.

Driven by the construction of free trade port, Hainan's foreign trade operation has achieved simultaneous improvement in quantity and quality. From 2018 to 2023, the average annual growth rate of Hainan's import and export value is 22.2%; The number of enterprises with export and import records increased from less than 600 to more than 1,900. The number of trading partners increased from 160 to more than 190.
