On April 18, 2024, good news came from the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Transportation. The engineering feasibility study report of the Nanfeng (Jiangxi-Fujian boundary) to Nanchang section of the G1535 Chaozhou-Nanchang National Highway has successfully passed the industry pre-review. According to the evaluation of the expert group, the report preparation principles are correct, the construction scale, technical standards, route directions and main control points are appropriately set, and the construction plan is reasonable, laying a solid foundation for the advancement of subsequent projects.

The Chaozhou-Nanchang Expressway has a total length of about 750 kilometers, crossing Chaozhou, Meizhou, Longyan, Sanming, Fuzhou, and finally reaching Nanchang. There are approximately 256 kilometers, 271 kilometers, and 223 kilometers of road sections planned in the three provinces of Guangdong, Fujian, and Jiangxi respectively. Among them, the section from Nanfeng to Nanchang, as an important part of this artery, has been included in the national 14th Five-Year Plan project database, and its strategic position is self-evident.

According to the plan, the expressway will officially start construction at the end of January 2025 and is expected to be fully completed and open to traffic by the end of December 2027. By then, this two-way four-lane highway with a roadbed width of 26 meters and a design speed of 100 kilometers per hour will greatly improve regional traffic efficiency. Its route is carefully planned and will cross the Dongchang Expressway on the east side of Taosha Town, Fengcheng City, pass through many important nodes in Nanchang County, and eventually connect with the Bayi Expressway of Nanchang South Ring Expressway.

It is worth mentioning that the construction of the Nanfeng (Jiangxi-Fujian border) to Nanchang section of the G1535 Chaozhou-Nanchang National Highway will not only improve the highway network layout of the country and Jiangxi Province, but also accelerate Jiangxi Province’s integration into the Belt and Road Initiative. , and inject strong impetus into the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
